Centaur Media, publisher of Marketing Week, has entered into a joint venture agreement with online market research agency YouGov creating YouGovCentaur.

Under the venture, YouGov will draw on its existing research capabilities and panel-building skills to develop specialist consumer panels covering Centaur’s key markets including legal, financial services, marketing and engineering.

Both businesses will have representation on the board of the new entity with co- head of YouGov, Nadhim Zahawi, and Centaur chief executive, Geoffrey Wilmot, taking a seat on the board alongside other key executives.

Zahawi, who co-founded the market research agency in May 2000, says: "By teaming up with Centaur we will be able to tap into their contacts, accelerating the growth we can achieve in these important markets."

Centaur’s Wilmot adds the businesses have already identified two projects across its legal and financial divisions.

Centaur is one of the UK’s largest independent publishing and information companies, whose key media brands include The Lawyer, Money Marketing and The Engineer, as well as Marketing Week.
