G2 promotes Joshua chief exec

Joshua chief executive Peter Thompson has been promoted to chief executive of Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for G2 Worldwide, Grey Global’s network of marketing services agencies.

Thompson, who founded the direct forerunner to Joshua 20 years ago, takes over his new role immediately. He will report to G2 Worldwide chairman and chief executive Joe Celia.

Grey Global established the G2 network last year in a move that saw Joshua rebranded as Joshua G2 (MW June 11, 2006). Thompson says: “I am looking forward to playing a greater part in the growth of the G2 agency network. We have an unrivalled ability to deliver breakthrough brand communications programmes on both a global and regional scale and we have received a very positive response from our clients in Europe.”

Thompson’s promotion follows the appointment of his predecessor John Lynn as chief executive of Grey in Spain.
