Assuming you are as media savvy as the Diary, you’ll be aware that Virgin Radio ranked an admirable 12th in The Sunday Times 100 Best Small Companies to Work For report published last weekend (March 4).

Not only was this an end to the company’s virginity (sorry) when it comes to the list, but it was the only media owner to feature this year.

To thank staff, a champagne and bacon butty breakfast was put on at the company’s Golden Square studios. Not only that, but the station has also created a "Virgin Radio Rock ‘n’ Roll Bank Holiday" – an extra day’s holiday with a catch: staff must use it to do something rock ‘n’ roll. Watch out for those TVs, presumably playing Sky One, as you walk under hotel windows.

The Diary, however, has always believed Marketing Week to be the best employer and as such will be at home tomorrow feasting on the head of a (chocolate) bat.
