Dodds exits Honda for Callaway Golf

Honda UK head of marketing Jeff Dodds is leaving the car manufacturer just a year after taking over from Simon Thompson. Dodds (pictured) is joining Callaway Golf as European marketing director.

It is thought that Dodds, who has been at Honda for five years, will join Callaway next month. He describes the role as his “dream job”.

Dodds was previously head of marketing for Honda’s power equipment division and took the top marketing role on the automotive side of the business in March last year, when Thompson joined Motorola as European marketing director. It emerged last week that Thompson is leaving Motorola to join as chief marketing officer.

During his time at Honda, Dodds has increased the marque’s focus on digital advertising (MW October 26, 2006) and created the recent television advertising campaign featuring robot Asimo.
