Yahoo! unveils ad-friendly mobile service

Yahoo!, the internet service provider, is continuing its push into the mobile space, with the launch of Yahoo! Mobile Publisher Services that aims to make it easier for companies to run mobile advertising campaigns.

The launch, which was announced today (March 27), is part of the online company’s strategy to offer mobile tools to advertisers, publishers and network operators and to help companies get value out of mobile content and advertising.

Advertisers will be able to be able to choose the format they want to use such as display or in-game advertising.

Steve Boom, senior vice-president of mobile and broadband, Yahoo!, says: “Yahoo! has become a leader in the global mobile internet by leveraging the reach and popularity of our innovative mobile services for consumers and our competitive expertise in digital advertising. Now, we are enabling publishers to grow their own mobile businesses by taking advantage of our unique experience, technology and services.”

The new Yahoo! product means advertisers can ensure that certain pages from their websites can be accessed via Yahoo!’s oneSearch. The new services advertisers will have access to are the Yahoo! Mobile Ad Network, Mobile Content Engine, Mobile Media Directory and Mobile Site Submit.
