National Express creates sales and marketing role in restructure

National Express, the coach company, appointed Dave Watkin to the new role of sales and marketing director. The move follows an internal restructure within the company.

Watkin, who took over the role late last month, will be responsible for advertising, marketing development, e-commerce, third party sales, customer relations and the customer contact centre.

Watkin joined from National Express’ sister company Central Trains where he was commercial director. Prior to that, he was head of marketing for bus operator Eurolines.

His appointment comes a month after the company appointed MPG after a competitive pitch for it £7m media planning and buying account.
