GE names marketing officer for 10m corporate finance unit

GE%20Commercial%20FinanceGeneral Electric Commercial Finance has appointed Glenn Thomas as chief marketing officer for its corporate financial services, a GE unit with more than £10m in assets and 2,000 employees.

Thomas will be responsible for strategic marketing and commercial programmes to ensure growth within Europe. He will also oversee new product introduction, market expansion strategies and customer service initiatives for the unit, which provides capital in the form of finance, asset-based loans and structured finance to European businesses.

He will report to Robert Stefanowski, the President and CEO of Corporate Financial Services Europe.

Prior to this appointment, Thomas was managing director for strategy and marketing at GE’s Global Media and Communications finance business. Before joining GE in 2001, Thomas was in the telecoms and technology industry for 19 years in a range of managerial positions.

GE Commercial Finance, Corporate Financial Services Europe is one of the largest SME (small to medium enterprises) lending providers on the continent. Stefanowski says: "Glenn’s diverse background and international experience will be an invaluable asset in steering and building the business."
