Give me a C! Give me an H! Give me an E! Give me an E! Give me an R! (out of room, I was spelling cheerleaders)

CheerleadersAttendees of the Internet World Exhibition at Earls Court Ex-hibition Centre in May will be in for a treat as creative web agency Red Snapper puts on a show to promote cheerleading in the UK.

The company, as well as gaining some pretty unusual publicity at the event, is aiming to raise awareness of the rise of the sport in the UK. Although it is mainly associated with identikit blondes from American high schools, who often have to retire after nine months to have the quarterback’s baby, there are 450 cheerleading squads, comprising some 16,000 dedicated athletes, on this side of the Atlantic. And interest in the sport is growing rapidly.

The exhibition runs from May 1-3, during which Red Snapper’s cheerleaders will be displaying their full range of impressive routines including chants, jumps, spins, throwing each other in the air, human pyramids and, apparently, sparkling white pants.
