Honda (UK) has appointed Steve Martindale (pictured) as general manager of its motorcycles division. He was previously head of company vehicle operations at the Japanese manufacturer.

Martindale replaces former general manager of motorcycles Mark Davies, who has moved to Honda Motor Europe as head of sales operations.

The appointment of Martindale follows a series of changes in the marketing department of Honda’s car division. Head of marketing Jeff Dodds is leaving after just a year in the role to become European marketing director for Callaway Golf, while marketing communications manager Matthew Coombe left at the end of last year to join Vodafone UK as head of brand (MW October 12, 2006).

Martindale, who has been at Honda for 12 years, is also a former head of car sales.
