Lonelygirl15 was launched as a “real” online video blog, which featured a 16-year-old girl talking about her life and teenage issues, on YouTube. It was outed as a fake last September but continues to air as a serial about Lonelygirl15, now known as Bree, and has a myserious plot about her family’s involvement in a religious cult. It encourages involvement and interaction with viewers.
KateModern will expand on the Lonelygirl storyline and will show her trying balance her social life with “dark forces”. The plot will incorporate puzzles and mystery that will be carried over into “real life” to allow viewers to participate in the storyline.
