Biggest gay and lesbian social network on verge of going live

QSoft Consulting, the owner of the Gaydar portfolio, is launching what it claims is the biggest social network of gay and lesbian people under the GaydarNation brand. It will go live on April 27.

The network will include GaydarGirls, Gaydar.co.uk and GaydarRadio with Rainbow Network. It says it will reach 1.6m gay and lesbian people across the UK.

It will now be sold to advertisers as a cross-media brand and will offer banners and MPU advertising as well as advertorials, podcasts and promotions across online and radio. It will introduce classified advertising from the fourth quarter of this year.

Users will be able to access and interact with the network for free and will also be able to create a personal profile, write blogs, access forums and messageboards and download wallpaper and e-cards. QSoft is planning to launch additional features to the site, including the ability to upload video content, in the second quarter of 2008.

The Gaydar portfolio accounted for 76.56% of visits to gay and lesbian sites in the UK during February, according to internet research company Hitwise.
