Glisten, the snack and confectionery group, has appointed Dave Coulson as its first marketing and development director. The move aims to strengthen the company’s brand development strategy.

Coulson joins the company from Matthews Foods, where he was marketing director. He will be responsible for developing the brand’s range of premium confectionery range as well as its better-for-you snacks.

The Leeds-based company says Coulson’s marketing experience will help to develop both its private-label relationships as well as its branded ranges.

Coulson has worked on a number of key brands in the past, such as McCain, Nestle-Rowntree and Fox’s Biscuits. He is also a former marketing consultant to Kelloggs.

Glisten has also appointed Chris Monks to the role of managing director of natural cereal bar company Lyme Regis Fine Foods.
