Pringle, who will head up the print product, pricing, research and marketing analysis teams, will be tasked with developing the brand and integrating the communications strategy at Thomson.

Thomson signed up as a partner to the Nectar loyalty scheme at the end of last year and Pringle says: "I will be developing simple, focused communications campaigns to reinforce the message that The Book from Thomson Local is the only directory that gives you Nectar points."

Before joining Thomson, Pringle was sales and marketing manager for the Philharmonia Orchestra in London.

Brown joined Thomson earlier this year from rival Yell, where he was head of product and customer marketing (MW February 1).
