Added Value appoints new UK chief executive

Lucy Richardson

Added Value, the brand development and marketing insight consultancy, has promoted managing director Lucy Richardson to UK chief executive. She replaces Janine Hawkins, who was made global chief executive for people and organisation last month.

Richardson, a former Diageo marketer, has been spearheading the development of the UK business as the flagship model for its international operations. She has also been appointed to the European board.

The agency has also promoted deputy managing director Marie Ridgley to managing director to replace Richardson, who had been in the role since 2005.

Richardson says that she will continue investing in research and development around ethical branding and in the digital arena but is also looking for fresh talent to reinforce the agency’s position.

Richardson’s promotion comes two months after a restructure of the business to bring the UK into its centralised European division. Hawkins was promoted to her new role as part of the restructure and European chief executive Liz Musch added the UK to her remit.
