Fiat promotes veteran marketer to run commercial division

Gerry Clarke

Fiat Auto (UK) has appointed veteran marketer Gerry Clarke as director of its commercial vehicles division. Clarke, who has worked for Fiat for more than 20 years, takes over from Kevin Henderson, who is leaving the company. It is not known if he has a job to go to.

Clarke joined Fiat UK in 1986, holding various management positions at the company, including dealer development director. He left that role at the end of 1997 to become commercial director of Fiat Auto South Africa.

Most recently, Clarke was responsible for the development of the Fiat Automobiles brand as sales director for export markets through a network of 65 importers worldwide.

He says of his new role: "We have yet to exploit the full potential of our commercial vehicles brand in this market."
