Big names beef up senior management at 118 118

118%20188The Number 118 118 has strengthened its senior management line up with the appointment of former Premier Foods marketer Martin Hall as commercial director. In the newly created role Hall will report directly to chief executive Mark Horgan.

Hall, who was general manager for convenience business at Premier Foods, will have overall responsibility for the 118 118 brand and marketing director Mark Evans will report to him. News of Hall’s appointment comes a week after it emerged that Nokia’s UK marketing chief Simon Lloyd is joining The Number in a senior role to look into "mobile development" (MW last week).

Hall was one of Premier Foods’ most senior marketers and over saw the launch of Branston Beans. He is also a former brand manager for Walkers Crisps.

Evans was appointed as The Number’s marketing director last year to replace Alex Lewis, who left to join BSkyB. Evans, who was previously innovation director, was reporting to Horgan before Hall was appointed.

Evans is a former Mars marketer who spent three years in a pan-European strategic role at the confectionery giant before joining The Number at the end of January 2006.

Lewis left The Number in March last year to become marketing director of Sky Networks, where she is responsible for non-sports marketing. She replaced Barnaby Dawe, who left the company to join Chrysalis as managing director of Heart FM in 2005.

Lewis was promoted to the role of marketing director from brand communications director at The Number in 2003.
