VisitScotland appoints new agencies to roster

VisitScotland, the tourism body, has appointed four new agencies to handle its digital, direct mail and sales promotion accounts in the UK and Ireland. It follows a competitive pitch between a number of undisclosed agencies.

The Union has been appointed to handle its direct marketing account after a four-way pitch. The business was previously handled by WWAV Rapp Collins although it is not clear if the agency was involved in the pitch. The Union will work closely with Fraoch Marketing, which already handles planning for the direct account.

VisitScotland has also appointed Glasgow-based agency Frame and Blue Chip, which is based in Edinburgh, to handle its sales promotions work.†Frame will handle its golf promotion brief and Blue Chip will be responsible for the body’s winter promotional work. The account was previously handled by the BD Network.

It has also appointed Glasgow-based Equator as the first agency to handle its VisitScotland’s digital account. The agency is now working on a strategy.
