Brooklands beats three to Flybe title contract

Uncovered%20coverLow-cost airline Flybe has appointed contract publisher Brooklands Group to revamp its in-flight magazine as part of a plan to expand secondary services to customers.

Brooklands beat incumbent bmi publications in a four-way pitch. Flybe will retain bmi for its online destination guide.

Flybe director of marketing Simon Lilley says the in-flight magazine account is worth a six-figure sum. “Flybe Uncovered is important in the passenger experience and a key communication tool for Flybe,” he says.

The new-look magazine will be available from June 1, 2007. It will feature travel news, route information and destination features.

The airline increased its advertising budget by £5m to £15m after its acquisition of BA Connect last month. Flybe has opened more bases in the UK and added routes to European city and holiday destinations including Frankfurt, Milan and Paris.
