Goodfella’s is ramping up its summer spend in a £3m marketing partnership with satellite operator BSkyB. The pizza brand will be the headline sponsor of Sky Movies Action Thriller Channel and the Sky Movies subscriber magazine.

An advertising drive for Goodfella’s Solos brand kicks off on Monday with a six month advertising drive across Sky TV and pub channels, together with interactive, broadband and print media.

It will launch with the first brand ad on Sky Mobile TV and also run across Sky Sports, Sky One and Sky Movies along with Sky Pub Sports, including coverage of the FA Cup and Champions League Final.

Fiona O’Keefe, brand manager for Goodfella’s Solos, says: “We wanted to communicate the range’s convenience and taste messages to consumers by harnessing the massive audience Sky provides.”

The Sky package will be backed by Goodfella’s promotions across consumer site 365.com and News International freesheet thelondonpaper. The deal was brokered by Equinox.

Goodfella’s is the market leader in frozen pizza and says it has a 31% share of the £323m category. Solos launched in 2006, backed by sponsorship of ITV1 Saturday night show Dancing On Ice.
