New campaign – Strathclyde Police

Strathclyde Police is promoting its public reassurance campaign on First ScotRail trains in carriages on Glasgow’s North, South and Argyle lines.

The campaign will use the strapline: “Policing all our communities 24/7” on the 500 panels installed on the Ayreshire and Inverclyde routes. It will run for six weeks and is expected to be seen by 3 million commuters a month. Another 200 panels of advertising space will also be made available on the Strathclyde services.

A Strathclyde Police spokeswoman says: “This campaign is the continuation of our objective to raise public reassurance and reduce the fear of crime in our force area. We use a variety of methods to communicate with the people we serve and this partnership has given us a great opportunity to reach a wider audience than normal.” The campaign builds on the success of introducing the panels on Glasgow to Edinburgh trains last Spring.

First ScotRail’s commercial director Peter Williams adds that the Strathclyde network is the largest outside London. With approximately 7,500 police officers and 3,000 support staff working round the clock, Strathclyde Police is Scotland’s biggest police force and operates on behalf of 12 local authorities.
