GMTV, the ITV breakfast show recently hit by the phone-in scandal, has signed a deal with Roo Group to launch an online video portal at gm.tv, which will stream exclusive content from the show. It will also feature four new channels covering news, showbiz, fashion and family health.

The site, which launches this week, will be available to advertisers, who will be able to buy slots across the five channels. GMTV says that its existing site offers 750,000 unique users and an average of 7 million page impressions each month.

A customised ROO video player will be visible on the gm.tv homepage, with full-screen viewing options available to all website visitors. The video portals will be managed via the ROO Video Exchange to allow GMTV to manage its video content strategy in house.

As part of the deal the gm.tv site will offer a selection of Roo’s extensive video content.
