Brylcreem uses MySpace to find ‘b:’ star

BrylcremeMale grooming brand Brylcreem is casting the lead for its next TV ad push via videos posted on MySpace as part of its marketing drive for the hairstyling range b: from Brylcreem.

The winner will receive £10,000 to star in the ad. Entrants are asked to record clips of their “best party tricks” and post them online on before June 14 to enter the competition to star in the ad.

The company will adopt the same tactics from June 18 to search for a band to perform the ad’s soundtrack.

The b: from Brylcreem range consists of six products including remoulding paste, styling clay and texturising gum.

Chris McCafferty MySpace European communications director says the campaign will put the social networking site’s audience at the heart of the haircare brand’s marketing activity.
