Ticket exchange appoints head of online marketing

viagogoViagogo, the online ticket exchange, has appointed Martin McNulty to the new role of head of online marketing. He joins from internet telephony service Skype, where he held the same position.

McNulty will be responsible for online customer acquisition, retention and branding over the internet. He will also be tasked with growing the online marketing division.

Viagogo says it is looking to expand aggressively across Europe and will continue to strengthen its management team as it develops. The site’s European expansion is backed by technology investor Index Ventures.

Viagogo has signed deals with Manchester United and Chelsea, which allow the football clubs’ season-ticket holders to sell unwanted tickets.

The company was founded by Eric Baker, a co-founder of US ticketing site Stubhub, which was acquired by E-bay for $310m earlier this year.
