Chorion appoints three senior marketers

Chorion, the company that owns the licence for children’s characters Noddy and Mr Men, has strengthened its management team with the appointment of three new senior marketers.

Former Fox and Disney marketer Eric Karp joins from US entertainment company Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer as executive vice-president of licensing and merchandising. He will oversee Chorion’s global sales, marketing and product development in his new role and report to Chorion’s president of Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia, Jane Turner.

Cheryl Gotthelf has been appointed senior vice-president of global brand management for Mr Men and Little Miss. She has launched children’s brands for companies including ABC, Sesame Workshop and Noggin in the past and will work on the launch of The Mr Men Show at Chorion. She joins from US children’s broadcaster Scholastic Media.

Joan Blanski, a former PepsiCo marketer, moves from Lifetime Television, where she was vice-president of marketing to take on the role of senior vice-president of global brand management for Noddy at Chorion.

All three roles are new and the reshuffle follows the appointment of Jeff Norton as director of brand development in January.
