Arsenal fan in Old Trafford awards ceremony conflict

Sean%20Montgomery%20-%20awardsIt’s not often that personal conflicts occur in the course of our professional lives. Well the Diary hopes that’s the case for Sean Montgomery, managing partner of Ten Nine, considering that his company delivers “responsible and vetted messaging” in secondary schools. But last month Sean was faced with a real test.

Being a man of good taste and having an eye for the beautiful game in its most exquisite form, Sean is a die-hard Arsenal fan. So he was less than impressed by having to travel up to Manchester for the sole purpose of visiting Old Trafford, the home of Premiership rivals Manchester United.

However, since Sean was entering enemy territory to hand out gongs to marketers working in the education sector at The Heist Awards, an event Ten Nine were sponsoring, he grudgingly put his club allegiances behind him.

Of course, the fact that Manchester United were literally booted out of the Champions League by AC Milan the night before had nothing to do with Sean’s enjoyment of the night.
