IT people can be creative

IT people creative? What’s so creative about turning a computer off and on again or blocking social networking sites, forcing colleagues to actually do some work? Or so the small-minded may ask. Last week the DesignIT exhibition launched to celebrate the creativity of those working in IT.

At the opening of the exhibition at London’s Gallery 27, the winner of DesignIT 2007 was revealed to be Said Dajani for his screensaver developed for The Alzheimer’s Society. Said’s “Memories are made of this” highlights the isolation felt by people suffering from dementia. He aimed for the screensaver to be used as a tool to provide a memory prompt to help people remember key facts of their lives.
