PKR.com to run ads between free poker games

PKR.com, the online poker site, is introducing in-game adverts across its tables. The gaming company has signed an exclusive deal with in-game advertising company IGA Worldwide to provide 15 and 30-second video ad breaks between free-to-play games.

The gaming firm will also provide space for high visibility wall posters and logos that will appear on poker tables. Advertising will not appear in real money games and tournaments.

The company will target 18 to 35-year-old males and plans to reach 60,000 players a day.

Marketing director Simon Prodger says: “Online poker has seen exponential growth in the past year and we’ve been focused on creating as realistic an environment as possible.”

IGA Worldwide’s network of more than 50 gaming titles includes games publishers such as Electronic Arts, Atari, Valve and Codemasters.
