KFC supports new product with ad push

KFC is supporting the launch of its new Wrapstar sandwich with a TV ad showing an accident-prone young man enjoying a mess-free lunch thanks to the fast food chain. The campaign breaks on June 18.

The ad shows a busy man having a bad day where he knocks a pot plant onto his keyboard, gets ink on his face during a presentation and spills coffee on the floor. His day is improved when he goes KFC for lunch and has the Wrapstar, which allows him to have a clean lunch. Unfortunately, the bench he sits on to eat it has just been painted leaving him with stripes on his back.

The Wrapstar contain two strips of crispy chicken, pepper mayonnaise, a slice of cheese, a tostada, mild salsa and salad. It is wrapped into a star-shape and toasted so that it is easy to eat on the go.

The new product launch comes a month after the chain announced that it will remove all trans fats from all product sold in KFC. From later this month, it will use a new low trans fat blend of cooking oil.
