DDB Sydney celebrates the shoe-gazers with trainer magazine ads

Sneaker%20magazine%20adBelieve it or not, trainers are big business. The agencies certainly do. Back in April advertising agency Wieden & Kennedy celebrated its 25th anniversary, and relationship with Nike, by creating a limited run of 1,000 specially-produced trainers.

Now, DDB Sydney has been commissioned by Australian magazine Sneaker Freaker to promote the launch of its tenth issue – the “sneaker head’s” bible.

DDB has created three subtle, visual ads based on the magazine readers’ obsessions with footwear. One shows a front door with the peep-hole levelled at foot height, another depicts a hall way with mirrors instead of skirting boards and the third, the Diary’s favourite, is of a mourner at a funeral checking out the corpse’s feet in an open casket.
