Ex-MTV marketer joins SpinVox

Digital telecoms company SpinVox has appointed former MTV marketer James Scroggs as vice-president of consumer business. The move comes just two weeks after Scroggs announced his departure from MTV Networks, where he was UK & Ireland vice-president of marketing.

Scroggs will be responsible for building consumer awareness of SpinVox and will head its consumer marketing team.

SpinVox, which is the world’s first voicemail-to-text service, launched in the UK in 2004. This year it launched in North America and has expansion plans for South Africa and Canada in the coming months. The company says it expects to announce 12 deals in 2007 “reaching an initial potential customer base of 6 million”.

Scroggs was responsible for all advertising, digital, events, products, brand experiences and corporate social responsibility at MTV Networks. He joined in 2002 and before that he was senior brand manager at ONDigital. He also worked at agencies Lowe Lintas and DMB&B.
