Brewing giant Anheuser-Busch is reviewing its £3.5m UK advertising account for lager brand Budweiser. Roster agencies DDB London and Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/ Y&R are expected to compete against Euro RSCG for the account, with a decision expected next year.

The pitch is the first time that the UK has been granted independence to find its own agency. Previously, the US has decided on advertising decisions with the main brand work undertaken by the company’s network agency DDB.

Anheuser-Busch runs a number of campaigns for its Budweiser brand. RKCR/Y&R created Budweiser’s latest work for Bud Bucks virtual currency campaign.

Budweiser’s marketing plans this year have been centred around Bud Bucks, with activity including a digital initiative aimed at 18- to 24-year-old men across websites such as YouTube and fhm.co.uk.
