New website part of CNN’s ‘good Web citizen’ plan

CNN.com is rolling out a new-look website for both its US and international portals, as it overhauls its entire online strategy to offer a better user experience with a focus on being a “good Web citizen”.

The revamp is part of a wider initiative to integrate CNN services across all media and will include digital and TV integrated content, and also integrated advertising packages across all platforms, including mobile.

The new international site will also house sponsored series’ and stream exclusive, online content from CNN TV shows. The site is “cleaner and less cluttered” with an emphasis on video content, which will be free to all users.

Susan Grant, executive vice-president of CNN News Services, says, “This goes beyond the next level of online news.”

CNN.com will host the Web’s largest news video offering with both live and on-demand content. A live player tool allows access to up to four live video streams, one of which is anchored by CNN. com-exclusive news anchors – the only offering of its kind on the Web, it is claimed.
