Kuoni appoints head of brand and marketing

Kuoni Travel has appointed Remo Masala to the new role of head of brand and marketing as part of a major restructure of its business. It has created three new strategic divisions to increase its focus on customer service.

The UK business has been moved into the style division, which will handle the company’s brand and service-driven products and will be led by division head Reto Wilhelm.

Kuoni has also created a smart division, which will oversee “value for money” holidays, and will be overseen by division head Stefan Lester, and a destinations division, which will cover all destination management products and be managed by Rolf Schafroth.

Masala, who was previously working a consultant, will be responsible for developing the group-wide brand portfolio in each of the new business segments and will report to chief executive Armin Meier.

Kuoni says that “no workforce reductions are envisaged” but its UK managing director Sue Biggs stepped down this week after 25 years with the operator. Deputy managing director Mark Norman will take on her responsibilities on an interim basis.
