Homebase launches green products label

Homebase is bringing enviromentally friendly products under the banner Eco Home in a bid to show how small changes can improve a home’s environmental impact. The home improvement retailer says around 900 existing products will fall under the label.

The initiative covers products in the areas of water, energy and sustainability and will be promoted in all 310 outlets through an in-store and online campaign.

The in-store campaign includes stands, posters and shelf edge cards. Spend and Save loyalty card customers will also earn extra points on the products until November.

Sustainability manager Charles Drewe says: “We hope the Eco Home logo will make it easy for customers to identify products in-store.” He says Homebase is also issuing a leaflet with “quick, easy and simple steps” to creating an eco-friendly home, as customers looked to the retailer for advice.
