New directors at Kewego to push online video platforms

Kewego, the white label online video service that recently launched in the UK, has appointed former Figleaves.com founder John Gillespie as commercial director to spearhead its development in the UK.

It has also appointed Matej Vipotnik as business development director, who will work alongside Gillespie.

They will be responsible for building Kewego’s client base, offering both a distribution channel for online video, as well as a white label platform for brands to create their own online video platforms.

Gillespie has extensive experience of launching online businesses and was a co-founder of easyshop.co.uk, which later re-branded as figleaves.com.

Gillespie says: “Online video is an exciting area at the moment, with many companies recognising its potential to drive traffic and revenues.”

He says Kewego proposition is unlike generic user-generated-content sites, because “we allow brands to retain control of their site content and monetise online video in a very simple way”.
