Bhs director of marketing Shaeren McKenzie is restructuring the ailing retailer’s marketing team just four months after taking over the role.

McKenzie, a former Gossard marketer, has promoted head of marketing services Justin Whitmore to the new role of head of stores marketing. Daniel Willoughby, who has recently joined the retailer, will take over Whitmore’s role.

She has also appointed Lindsay Adams to take on the new role of head of customer relationship management.

Bhs is also seeking a replacement for brand and communications manager Kate Finnegan, who has left the company. In the interim, part of her remit is being handled by brand manager Tom Spearman.

McKenzie joined Bhs on March 1 (MW February 21), replacing Beverly Churchill, who left in October last year. McKenzie quit Gossard in 2003 (MW July 31, 2003) after just 18 months as marketing director. During her time at the lingerie company she acquired a reputation for being a tough client after going through three different advertising agencies.

Shortly after starting at Gossard she sacked incumbent agency Partners BDDH (now Euro RSCG) and appointed TBWA/London (MW October 25, 2001). Less then ten months later TBWA parted company with the company, citing creative differences. WARL was appointed a month later.

McKenzie has a long history working at both Bhs and parent company Arcadia, the Sir Philip Green-owned retail group. She started as a marketing manager in 1990 before becoming head of stores marketing at Mothercare.
