Waitrose is searching contractors to manage its £4m network of outdoor advertising sites and has appointed The Haystack Group to find suitable partners. The supermarket group has sites at 30 of its branches but plans to expand its network of six-sheet outdoor advertising boards across its 184 outlets.

The retailer is looking for a contractor that can both install and manage the network and is in talks with Titan Outdoor, Clear Channel, CBS Outdoor and JC Decaux.

The Haystack Group has appointed former Maiden director Francis Goodwin to lead the team advising Waitrose.

Waitrose’s decision to maximise the value of its advertising network comes just months after John Lewis veteran Mark Price was made managing director.

Price, who joined John Lewis as a graduate trainee, previously spent five years, from 2000, as Waitrose’s first director of selling and marketing.
