Aegis Media appoints digital chief

Aegis Media has appointed David Bulman, News International digital director, to head the development of its digital infrastructure across the group’s agencies. It comes as the group predicts that people will be consume two-thirds of media via digital by 2010.

Bulman takes over the new role of chief information officer later this month and will report to Aegis Media chief executive Mainardo de Nardis.

De Nardis says the appointment “reflects the importance of advanced technology solutions to Aegis Media”.

He adds: “By 2010, we expect two-thirds of all media consumed to be digital. As a result, we will continue to migrate our entire business towards technology-rich services.”

At News International, Bulman was responsible for developing website operations across the group’s portfolio of titles. Prior to that he was chief operating officer of News International subsidiary, Broadstream, and spent five years at Y&R/Wunderman in senior technology roles including managing partner, digital services.

Separately, Aegis Group has appointed Chantal Restivo-Alessi as head of strategy and corporate development.

She is a former chief operating officer for EMI Music outside the US and Europe and has also held roles at Booz Allen & Hamilton’s media and marketing group. She replaces Rob Myers, who has moved to Aegis research arm Synovate in an operational role.
