Virgin Megastores is launching a new website today (July 17) as part of its multi-channel retail strategy. It hopes the site will encourage consumers to interact with the retailer by uploading reviews.
The site will also have trailers and video clips in the games and DVD section and the music section will offer consumers the chance to “try before you buy”. It will also have a new in-store event section that will show live performances for its branches.
Steve Kincaid, marketing and e-commerce director, says the site will give the group the capability to be a serious player in the multi-channel entertainment world. He says: “Online is an increasing part of the mix and it is imperative that our reputation grows in this area as competition is fierce.”
