Wells and Young’s Brewery has appointed Farm to handle the £2m advertising for its Courage portfolio of beers, following a two way pitch against Krow. The pitch was overseen by the AAR.

The agency has a brief to relaunch the Courage brand, marking the first advertising campaign for the ale brand for over 10 years.

The Courage portfolio also includes Courage Best, Courage Dark Mild, Courage Light Ale and Courage Directors.

Director of marketing Chris Lewis says: “I am looking forward to working with the agency and injecting life back into the Courage portfolio.”

A decision on the media planning and buying pitch is yet to be made. It is not known which agencies are involved in the review.

Wells and Young’s acquired the Courage portfolio from Scottish & Newcastle in January.
