Marketers in bullish mood over financial prospects

Marketers are more optimistic about the financial prospects of their companies and industries than three months ago, according to the Marketing Week/Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA) Bellwether Confidence Index. It is the first time in the survey’s history that an overall positive result has been recorded.

The survey shows that 27.6% of marketers feel more confident about their industries – the highest figure recorded by the survey since it started in mid-2005.

Confidence levels about the performance of their own companies are also higher than last quarter, at 43.2% of respondents.

Budgets are increasing at their fastest rate for seven years, rising for a second successive quarter.
