Primula Cheese owner names UK deputy manager

Food manufacturer Kavli, which owns the Primula Cheese brand, has promoted Paul Lewney (pictured) to the new role of UK deputy manager. Lewney has been commercial director at the north east-based company for the last three years.

He will be responsible for production, quality control, supply chain and facilities in his new role and will also continue to oversee the commercial side of the business, including sales, marketing and new product development.

Lewney has 20 years of experience with major food manufacturers and retailers such as Sara Lee, Sainsbury’s and Danone.

Kavli manufactures Weight Watchers licensed dairy products and Castle MacLellan pate. The company, which is owned by the charitable trust Kavli Foundation, wants to increase sales by £5m over the next three years.
