Renault recruits Fiat global brand chief

Fiat’s global brand chief Steve Norman is leaving the Italian car marque after three years to join rival Renault as senior vice-president of global marketing. He replaces Benoit Marzloff, who is stepping down after 37 years with the company.

Fiat’s global brand chief Steve Norman is leaving the Italian car marque after three years to join rival Renault as senior vice-president of global marketing. He replaces Benoit Marzloff, who is stepping down after 37 years with the company.

Marzloff, who was senior vice-president of strategy and marketing for the Renault Group, is leaving the French marque for “personal reasons”. Norman starts his new role on September 10 and will report to executive vice-president of sales and marketing Patrick Blain.

Norman joined Fiat in 2004 as managing director of Fiat France. He was made worldwide marketing director for the Fiat brand a year later (MW†August 4, 2005). Norman has also worked for Rover and Volkswagen.

Renault promoted Blain, who was previously senior vice-president for Europe, to its top global sales and marketing role at the end of 2004 (MW January 6, 2005).
