Unilever is understood to be reviewing the £150m global advertising account for ice cream brand Wall’s. It is thought incumbent McCann Erickson is working on a brief for the brand but roster agencies Lowe Worldwide and DDB London are preparing to pitch for the account.
Unilever chief marketing officer Simon Clift is expected to lead the review. The news comes weeks after the company restructured its marketing team under two marketing directors – Paul Nevett for food and Matt Close for personal care. Both report to chairman Dave Lewis.
Wall’s, known as the Heartbrand outside the UK, spent £12.5m in the UK last year. Unilever is the largest ice cream maker in the world and its portfolio includes Carte D’Or, Cornetto and Magnum. It is not known if the review will include Ben & Jerry’s, which is handled by Fallon.
