FX marketing man heading Fox UK

Fox International Channels has promoted Jason Thorp, FX senior vice-president and deputy managing director, to managing director of the UK group. He has already taken over the role.

His promotion follows a 30% increase in year-on-year audience share for the year to date for FX, the group’s UK channel. Thorp, who was part of the team that launched in the channel in 2004, will report to Hernan Lopez, who has recently been promoted to chief operating officer of the wider Fox International Channels group.

FX is in the middle of a campaign for Dexter (pictured), a series about a policeman who is also a serial killer, but its schedule also includes shows such as Sleeper Cell, Carnivale and the new series of Nip Tuck, which starts next year.

Thorp is a former programme director at the Sci-Fi Channel and has also held roles at ITV and Viasta.
