Npower Solar puts cricketers under the spotlight to promote greener energy

Npower has rolled out a tongue-in-cheek ad campaign for its solar energy service Solar, which launched last month (MW June 21). The campaign features cricket players wearing “solar lighting helmets” – the ultimate accessory for cricketers hampered by dim light.
The drive, created by Beattie McGuinness Bungay, aims to highlight that npower Solar still operates effectively in dim lighting conditions and is an environmentally-friendly energy alternative. It launched today in the national press and will run throughout the cricket season.
The RWE-owned utility launched npower Solar as a one-stop shop for electricity micro-generation. It aims to educate consumers about solar-powered energy, and customers who sign up for the service will be paid for any excess electricity they generate.
