ICrossing buys Proxicom in digital push

ICrossing, the search marketing agency, has acquired US-based Web development agency Proxicom. It claims the deal makes it the largest independent digital marketing agency in the world.

The agency will retain the Proxicom brand and the agency’s chief operating officer Blue Van Dyke will stay on. Its clients include Chevron, Dupont and Toyota.

The deal follows a number of significant acquisitions and account wins for the agency over the past six months. It has also acquires US-based paid search agency NewGate Internet, Spannerworks, the UK search and social media agency, and Sharp Analytics, the marketing technology provider. Its clients include Coca-Cola, General Motors and Travelocity.

Jeffrey Herzog, founder and chief executive officer of iCrossing, says: “ICrossing’s DNA is in search, which represents consumer interest and intent. Proxicom’s DNA is in driving superior brand and user experiences. Together, we are poised to define the next generation of digital marketing by creating experiences – whether they are through the Web, mobile or emerging channels -that are driven by the consumer perspective.”
