Trinity Mirror has agreed the sale of regional titles in London and the South East. The South London Press, North London and Herts Newspapers and the Yellow Advertiser are among 27 titles being acquired by Tindle Newspapers Ltd for £18.75m.

The sales form part of a major restructuring of the Trinity Mirror business led by chief executive Sly Bailey. Last month, it sold the East Surrey and Sussex Newspapers, Kent Regional Newspapers and Blackmore Vale Publishing to Northcliffe Media and Scottish group Dunfermline Press paid Trinity £10m for Berkshire Regional Newspapers.

Bailey is also in the process of selling the sports division, including The Racing Post, and regional papers in the Midlands including the Birmingham Evening Mail and Coventry Evening Telegraph.
