Anyone for Tennis? MEC raises 2

The annual Mediaedge:cia Global Solutions (MEC) Tennis Open took place on what was probably the only sunny Friday of the month at the end of July.

Twenty mixed doubles teams took part – ten from MEC and ten from a selection of media owners. Demand for a place was so high that the media owners had to bid to be included.

The highest bidders were Newsweek, The Economist, Fortune, CNET, TIME, Forbes, the Financial Times, Adlink, Vibrant and Eurosport. Between them they raised an impressive £2,700 for Thames Reach, a charity that rehouses the homeless in the South Bank area. This figure was almost double what the agency raised with last year’s MEC Open.

Tim Hodges and Charlotte Moore beat off the tough competition to emerge as tournament winners, taking the coveted MEC Open Cup back to their proud colleagues at Fortune magazine.
