Cranmer tipped to quit Research International

Mark Cranmer, the worldwide chief executive of WPP Group-owned Research International, is understood to be stepping down from his role at the of this year. It is not thought that he as a job to go to.

Cranmer joined the company in March last year and has overseen a restructure of the business during his tenure. He took the role after leaving Starcom, where he was chief executive for Europe, Middle East and Africa, in 2005.

His name has been linked to the commercial director role at ITV, which has been vacant since Ian McCulloch left the broadcaster in May after 27 years. The broadcaster has been struggling to find a suitable candidate for the role (MW July 5).
